| Dear Rev. Know-It-All,
I was watching the Discovery Channel the
other day and they said that the three kings didn't really happen or at
least not the way the bible says. How could a star have led anyone
to a house? I saw it on television, so it must be true. What
do you think?
Sincerely,
Ms. Ivana Enzer

Dear Ms. Enzer,
When someone tells me that it didn't happen
the way Bible says, I simply ask them “Were you there when it happened?”
As for traveling stars and celestial phenomena
have you ever read what happened at Fatima, where 60,000 people, reporters
included, watched the sun fall towards the field in which they were standing,
leaving 60,000 wet and muddy people instantly dry cleaned?
The miracle at Fatima changed the Portuguese
government and the course of world history. It is also the only known
miracle to be predicted for a precise time, noon on October 13th.
I remember watching the above mentioned channel feature a scientist who
believed that the Fatima miracles were a by product of swamp gas.
Swamp Gas?! I would sooner believe that the Discovery Channel is
the product of swamp gas.
I hope this doesn't shatter your world
view, Ivana, but you can’t believe everything you see on TV, especially
when it’s about our faith. Don’t worry about what the Discovery
Channel says as much what the Lord is telling you through the text of Scripture.
Rev. Know-It-All
